Build Your AI Skillset for the 21st Century Classroom
Point Park University's fully online Artificial Intelligence in Education Endorsement program trains Pre-K to Grade 12 educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate and contribute to an AI-driven world.
This program is designed to bolster educator competencies in integrating AI ethically, educationally and innovatively across Pre-K to Grade 12 settings. Upon completion, educators will be well-prepared to integrate AI meaningfully into their teaching, equipping students to navigate both the opportunities and challenges of an AI-driven world.
Candidates for the Artificial Intelligence in Education Endorsement must have earned a Level I or Level II instructional, supervisory, educational specialist or administrative certificate.
The endorsement can be achieved in one of three ways:
- As a standalone endorsement program.
- As a concentration in our fully online Master of Education in Teaching and Leadership program.
- As part of the fully online Master of Learning, Design and Technology (M.A. and M.Ed.).
Students can apply for the PDE Endorsement after completing the coursework by submitting an application in PDE's Teacher Information Management System (TIMS).
Courses & Topics
To complete this endorsement, students will take four courses totaling 12 credits:
- AI Foundations and Applications
- AI Literacy, Teaching and Assessment
- AI Leadership and Innovation
- AI Ethics, Human and Social Issues Capstone
In each course, field experiences allow students to practice and apply the Pennsylvania standards of learning and AI in Education Endorsement competencies in lessons with Pre-K to Grade 12 students in the classroom.
