Darla Timbo, Psy.D., LPC, is a psychologist and licensed clinician, redefining the path to wellness through integrative mental health care. With over 18 years of experience, she builds and empowers businesses, students and communities of color by blending traditional therapeutic approaches with holistic practices to support learning, healing, and transformation.

A graduate of Carlow University’s Counseling Psychology doctoral program, Timbo’s approach is deeply rooted in understanding the intersectionality of race, gender, social justice, mental health and culturally specific wellness practices, ensuring that each client receives personalized and culturally sensitive care. Prior to joining Point Park University, she served as faculty at Penn West University.

In addition to her academic role, she is the owner of Dr. Timbo Consulting and Atlas Counseling Services, LLC, where she is committed to educating and serving underrepresented populations. She is also the former co-founder of "Can We Talk?," a mental health support group for Black women aged 50 and older and clinical director for "Artist Talk Mental Health," a Pittsburgh-based initiative supporting artists. She co-owns 24 Carrot Juice, a juice and smoothies bar, located in Bloomfield, with her husband.

Her research interests include institutional bias and Black women academics, diversity in clinical practice, Black clients' engagement with mental health treatment, Black women’s cultural experiences and therapeutic outcomes in counseling settings.
