Application Requirements for Traditional Undergraduate Transfer Applicants

- Proof of English Language Proficiency (test scores must be less that two years old from time of application):
- Duolingo English Test 100+- DET not accepted
- Academic IELTS: 6.0+
- TOEFL 61+
- SAT Verbal score: 470+
- ACT English score: 17+
- Two US university -level English composition courses (level 100 or higher) with a final grade of 'B' or higher
- Proof of English proficiency is not required for applicants from certain countries.
- If you are transferring from a university outside of the US you are required to provide a certified credit evaluation of your official transcripts using one of the following services:
- World Education Services (WES)
- SpanTran , The Evaluation Company, which offers a discounted evaluation if you use PPU's link
- Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
- InCred Evaluator - recommended for students seeking athletic participation
- Passport Identification page and visa page if, applicable
If the applicant is currently studying at a U.S. institution, the following is required:
- Completed and signed application Apply Now
- Photocopies of previously issued I-20s
- Official transcripts from all US universities attended
- Minimum GPA: A cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
All academic pieces must be received before an admission decision is rendered. Upon acceptance ISSE will contact you for required documents which you will need for your I-20 transfer/generation.
English Language Proficiency
Point Park University, in partnership with Duquesne University , University of Pittsburgh and ELS Language Center, provides a variety of options in English language instruction. Successful completion of these programs allows you to matriculate to Point Park without taking the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo test to most of our programs. Conditional admission may also be offered upon eventual successful completion of these programs or one of Point Park's accepted standardized tests such as the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo.
Conditional Admission and TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo Waivers
Point Park University will accept successful completion of the following programs as satisfying the requirements for English proficiency:
- Duquesne University ESL Program Advanced Level B
- ELS Language Center Intensive Level 112
- University of Pittsburgh English Language Institute full-time level 5 or 6 with an overall average of 80%

Students applying for initial entry can be issued the F-1 visa up to 120 days before the start date of their academic program. You may not enter the U.S. earlier than 30 days before the start date of your program- plan travel accordingly. You should arrive for the start of the semester no later than 5 days prior to the start of the semester.
