Annual events

The PCRC's goal is to provide a bridge between employers and students/alumni.  The specific goal is to provide a proper space (on-campus/virtually) that allows students/alumni the ability to make important connections and gain a greater awareness of the employment opportunities that exist in our region and beyond. Use these opportunities to engage with a variety of employers to learn about opportunities that may be a great fit for you and your interests.

Each semester, the Professional Career-Readiness Center (PCRC) brings a variety of employers to campus to network with and offer job opportunities to current students and alumni. If you are unable to attend a recruitment event, contact our office and we will provide you with the information so you can still apply for any open positions.

The PCRC provides Career-Readiness Workshops for students and alumni throughout the year. The PCRC also partners with other Schools/Departments to facilitate workshops on a wide-range of Career-Readiness Topics.  All majors welcome.  Check Handshake, stop by the PCRC, or email us at CareerDev@PointPark.edu to learn more.

If you have an idea for a workshop, or would like a PCRC staff member to connect with your department, your class, or your club/organization, please let us know.

Employer Tabling/Presentations

Connect with employers actively hiring for jobs and internships related to your major/field of interest. Stop by the PCRC to connect with employers or attend discussions with industry professionals that occur throughout the year!  All majors welcome. Check Handshake, stop by the PCRC, or email us at CareerDev@PointPark.edu to learn more.

Career Expos

Connect with multiple employers (in a small Career Fair set-up), who are actively hiring for jobs and internships related to your major/field of interest. These Career Expos will be advertised for careers in specific industries... however all majors are welcome.

While not required, you are encouraged to dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes!  Check Handshake, stop by the PCRC, or email us at CareerDev@PointPark.edu to learn more.

WestPACS Internship & Job Fair

Every semester, Point Park students and alumni can attend the WestPACS Internship & Job Fair. These events can occur virtually or on-site. The Fall (on-site) Collegiate Career Fair will occur on Wednesday, October 9 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Learn more by visiting: www.westpacs.org

PERC Education Job Fair

In the spring semester, Point Park students and alumni in the Education Department can attend the PERC Education Job Fair.  This fair occurs on-site in March or April of each year. Spring 2025 date TBD. Learn more by visiting: www.percjobfair.org

Alumni Networking

The PCRC works with the University Advancement/Alumni Association to develop opportunities for students and alumni to connect with industry professionals, and with one another, to establish or strengthen connections and maintain a professional network.

Alumni, especially those residing in the Pittsburgh region, are encouraged to stay connected with the Point Park University Alumni Association (see Alumni Benefits), but also to join professional organizations to continue building a network post-graduation. The Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP), Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP), Pittsburgh Technology Council, and the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) are some that we would recommend.

Check Handshake, stop by the PCRC, or email us at CareerDev@PointPark.edu to learn more.
