POSITION:               Director of SAIL and Student Center

DEPARTMENT:      Office of Student Life

REPORTS TO:         Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs/Dean of Student Life

WORK SCHEDULE:   Fully On-Campus position

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) and previous experience in student activities and/or work with traditional-aged college students.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Responsible for the overall planning, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of student activities on campus; and, oversight of the Student Center facility and all the associated services and spaces it provides.

DUTIES:

Related to Student Activities, Involvement, and Leadership (SAIL):

  1. Plan, implement, and oversee large-scale, co-curricular programs and activities that meet the needs of the diverse student population at Point Park University.
  2. Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of the Coordinator of Student Involvement.
  3. Responsible for the advisement, training, and supervision of the Campus Activities Board (CAB).
  4. Oversee the hiring and training of the SAIL office student staff; co-supervisor, along with the Coordinator of Student Involvement.
  5. Develop and coordinate co-curricular programs with other offices and departments within the division of Student Affairs.
  6. Manage the SAIL budget following university policies and procedures, under the oversight of the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs.
  7. Create, administer, and report on assessments for programs offered within SAIL.
  8. Ensure all SAIL policies, procedures, manuals, forms, online content, are regularly reviewed and updated as necessary.
  9. Oversee the publicity and promotion of all campus co-curricular events.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Related to Student Center:

  1. Oversee the maintenance and operation of Student Center facility including, but not limited to, the university’s fitness center, recreation area, and all other common spaces within the Student Center.
  2. Oversee the planning and implementation of programs and activities that meet the needs of the diverse student population at Point Park University.
  3. Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of the Coordinator of the Student Center.
  1. Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of the Student Center student staff (approximately 10-16 students).
  2. Manage the Student Center budget following university policies and procedures, under the oversight of the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs.
  3. Work with external vendors for the maintenance of the Student Center fitness equipment (weight machines, cardio machines, bicycles).
  4. Maintain and manage the inventory of all Student Center equipment.
  5. Create, administer, and report on assessments for programs offered within the Student Center.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
