Graduate Assistant – Department of Community Engagement  & Leadership

Department: Department of Community Engagement

Term of appointment: Three-year assignment, beginning with the Fall 2023 semester. Assignment is 12 months.

Salary: $10.00 per hour up to $6,400 (up to 3,200 per semester) plus 6 credits tuition per semester (fall/spring/summer) of paid tuition and fees.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in business, psychology, education, communication or other community-related field. Professional community engagement experience preferred. Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into a University graduate program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of six (6)
credits per semester. The application processes for the graduate programs and graduate assistantships are separate.

Primary duties: Graduate assistant will support the Department of Community Engagement in managing and growing the department. Duties will include assisting with outreach, marketing and administration; maintaining and growing our community partnerships, creating and implementing outreach in the community including workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. Support department chair in curriculum development and management of existing department programs and courses. Graduate assistant will maintain records and process paperwork for faculty and students in department programs, order supplies, and perform other duties supporting departmental programs, basic needs and community engagement.

Work 20 hours per week on campus, except during vacations and holidays.
