Graduate Assistant – Department of Community Engagement & Leadership

Department: Department of Community Engagement

Term of appointment: One year assignment, with option to renew beginning with the Fall 2026 semester. Assignment is 12 months.

Salary: $10.00 per hour up to $6,400 (up to 3,200 per semester) plus 6 credits tuition per semester (fall/spring/summer) of paid tuition and fees.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in business, psychology, education, communication or other community-related field. Professional community engagement experience preferred. Applicants for this assistantship must already have been admitted into a University graduate program and must commit to enroll in a minimum of six (6)
credits per semester. The application processes for the graduate programs and graduate assistantships are separate.

Primary duties: The graduate assistant will support the Department of Community Engagement and Leadership in departmental operations, outreach, and community engagement initiatives. Duties will include assisting with outreach, marketing, and administrative activities, including social media content development and account management; supporting the development and maintenance of community partnerships; and assisting with the planning and implementation of community-based events. Additional responsibilities include maintaining records, processing paperwork for faculty and students, ordering supplies, and performing other duties that support departmental programs, student initiatives, and community engagement efforts.

Work 20 hours per week on campus, except during vacations and holidays.
