Position opening: Graduate Assistant – School of Education
Department: School of Education
Term of appointment: One academic year assignment, with opportunity for renewal for up to three years. Appointment begins with the fall 2026 semester (late August) and lasts through the first week of May.
Salary: $10.00 per hour, up to $3,200 per semester (for a total of $6,400 for the academic year), plus fully paid tuition and fees.
Requirements: Applicants must have earned an undergraduate degree in education or a related field and must already be admitted into a School of Education graduate program at Point Park University. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in education or a related field and be admitted to a School of Education graduate program or the doctoral program at Point Park University. Applicants must also commit to enrolling in a minimum of nine (9) graduate credits per semester or six (6) doctoral credits per semester.
Primary duties: The graduate assistant is required to work 20 hours per week and will support the School of Education leadership team and graduate programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist the Dean, Associate Dean, and Chair with projects related to School of Education initiatives and program development.
• Support the Graduate Directors with coordination and administration of graduate programs within the School of Education.
• Assist with communication and outreach to prospective and current graduate students.
• Help organize and support School of Education events, meetings, and graduate program information sessions.
• Assist with recruitment initiatives, program marketing materials, and outreach to school district partners.
• Support data collection and organization related to graduate program enrollment, recruitment, and assessment.
• Assist with preparation of reports, documents, and materials related to accreditation, program review, and state requirements.
• Provide administrative and project support for School of Education faculty and leadership as needed.
