The Point Park Writers' Series welcomes author David McGlynn to campus on Mon., Oct. 24, 2011 for a reading. The public is welcome to the free event, which begins at 8 p.m. in the Lawrence Hall ballroom.

McGlynn won the 2008 Utah Book Award for his story collection, "The End of the Straight and Narrow," and was a finalist for the 2009 Steven Turner Award for Best First Fiction from the Texas Institute of Letters. His stories and essays have appeared in Men's Health, The Huffington Post, Best American Sports Writing, and numerous literary journals. He teaches at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The author will also present a master class for Point Park University students, an event that is not open to the public.

The Point Park Writers' Series presents public lectures and readings throughout the academic year. It is offered through the University's English/creative writing program in the School of Arts and Sciences. For more information, contact Karen Dwyer, assistant professor of English.
