I am a huge reader! I got into it more around the end of high school, and I have stuck with it since. Now, if I have free time, especially when it’s nice outside, I am usually at the Point or in Village Park reading.

Why did you choose Point Park University?

I chose Point Park because of the SAEM Program. When I was first applying to schools, I was undecided. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to go to school in Pittsburgh, and when I toured Point Park on a whim, I knew I wanted to go to school here and that the SAEM program was for me. I declared my major right before I moved in.

What do you enjoy the most about the SAEM program?

I love how the SAEM program and its faculty push you right into the industry. You are able to get involved immediately in your freshman year. In my very first semester at Point Park, I was already shadowing someone at the Pittsburgh Penguins, and I joined the Pittsburgh Penguins Events Team, which I am still on to this day.

Can you share what its like to work for the Steelers? What did your internships include?

I have nothing but positive things to say about the Steelers organization. Their internship program is an excellent opportunity for students. I had the opportunity to be their Entertainment Marketing and Operations intern twice, first during concert season (spring) and then during football season (fall). In the spring, we had three large-scale events and a few smaller private events that I worked on. I also got to see Acrisure Stadium’s first-ever dirt event (events that include things like motocross) and my department was mainly responsible for assisting the incoming tour with any needs and managing any media. During the fall, my department is tasked with booking and managing game entertainment and personalities on home game days. I absolutely loved my internships.

You now work as a 2026 NFL Draft Event Operations Intern. What is that experience like?

My experience so far has been so hands-on and such a great learning opportunity for me. Being able to witness such a large-scale event, one impacting so much of Pittsburgh, has been so cool. My network has also grown significantly since I started. So many groups are coming together and collaborating to put the draft on. Although I started near the end of draft planning, I was thrown right into it. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I will never forget it.

As you work on a major event like the NFL Draft, how have your classes helped prepare you for this role?

As I said, my network has grown significantly since starting this role. In many SAEM classes, they emphasize the importance of building your network and teach you how to accurately brand yourself. So, using those skills I learned in class, I think I have gotten a lot better at interacting with industry professionals and growing my network.

What advice do you have for prospective Point Park students?

Everybody says it, but it’s true: say "yes" to as much as you can. As a student at Point Park, so many opportunities will be thrown at you, especially in the SAEM program. Take advantage of that as much as you can and treat every opportunity seriously. You never know who you'll meet.
