"If you truly are passionate and driven to achieve a specific goal or dream, the faculty and staff at Point Park will do everything in their power to get you to that goal. This is a major characteristic to consider when looking for a school because it takes a village to build a successful career, and you want to build it with people who care. Point Park cares."

What are the three things you love most about Point Park University?

There are many things I love about Point Park, but if I had to pick three, I would start with the connections I can make. I love that I can build connections with my professors. They put in so much effort to see their students succeed. They acknowledge us and take an interest in our dreams. Secondly, I love Point Park's Downtown Pittsburgh location because it is the perfect place to start building my career in entrepreneurship and media. Lastly, I love how inclusive Point Park's campus is. There are always activities happening on campus, and they're always open to anyone and everyone, which brings a lot of unity to the school.

Why did you choose the Sports, Arts & Entertainment Management program and what do you enjoy about it?

I chose the SAEM program after realizing I wanted more of a creative business degree. The SAEM program gives me the ability to learn all about business, entrepreneurship and marketing while building creative skills through classes that involve graphic design, podcasting and photography. The SAEM program also allows me to focus heavily on marketing, which ties into my social media minor really well. I am able to learn and gain experience in a variety of fields through the SAEM program.

How is your social media minor enhancing your education?

My social media minor plays a crucial role in my education because I became a full-time content creator over the past year. Content creation and social media will help me build my branding, marketing and networking skills and a better portfolio. By the time I graduate, my goal is to have already marketed myself and promoted my brand to agencies and other employers so that I can increase my chances of signing with a content creator agency and landing a job in my industry. My social media minor will help me achieve that and more.

Describe your favorite professors.

Paige Beal, MBA, is one of my favorite professors. She taught the first marketing course I took, which eventually drove me to change my major to SAEM. I also enjoy learning from Matthew Pascal, Ph.D., professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology. I took his statistics class. I was never confident in myself when it came to math, but Dr. Pascal was able to teach me in a way that motivated me and inspired me to believe in myself when it came to solving difficult problems. Overall, I appreciate all my professors at Point Park because, without them, I would not be where I am now.

How is Point Park preparing you for career success?

Point Park does not joke around when it comes to building careers. From the moment you step on this campus, they equip you with multiple academic advisors, networking opportunities and beneficial classes throughout your time here. Because of what Point Park has provided me, I have landed a social media fellowship with the Andy Warhol Museum and the Pop District. I've also been able to start my own podcast, build my social media presence, dive into content creation and network with entrepreneurs and creatives throughout Pittsburgh

What do you like about living and learning in Downtown Pittsburgh?

I love living and learning in Downtown Pittsburgh because it gives me the opportunity to be a student and learn about my industry while exploring my interests and hobbies. I'm able to gain valuable experience outside of the classroom by meeting creatives or others in my industry in Pittsburgh. My outside-of-school experiences have helped me grow as a student, aspiring creative and entrepreneur, and I have been able to shadow and work with so many people I admire. Living and learning in Downtown Pittsburgh helps me grow as a student and as a young businesswoman.

Why would you recommend Point Park to a prospective student?

If you truly are passionate and driven to achieve a specific goal or dream, the faculty and staff at Point Park will do everything in their power to get you to that goal. This is a major characteristic to consider when looking for a school because it takes a village to build a successful career, and you want to build it with people who care. Point Park cares. Point Park gives you the opportunity to be a student while building a career in Downtown Pittsburgh as an individual, which will leave you well-prepared for when it is time to graduate and take on the world.
