"I chose Point Park to pursue my MBA degree because of the distinctiveness and flexibility of the program. While pursuing my MBA degree, I participated in an internship at an international company while working three jobs to support myself. Point Park allowed me to take classes around my busy schedule, which was incredible. I would recommend Point Park because of its student focus and real-world classroom application of theory and practice."

What does your role with Alimentiv entail?

Alimentiv is a niche, gastrointestinal (GI) contract research organization providing a complete range of clinical research services to a broad base of academic and industry clients since 1986. As a business development director, I support the growth of Alimentiv’s business in the clinical trial space and drive annual sales by identifying new strategic opportunities, developing sales plans, meeting with clients, responding to requests for proposals and providing project costing support. In addition, I support client meetings, contract negotiations, research of new product offerings or markets and project initiation processes.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

What I love most about my job is the team and people that I work with on a daily basis. Company culture means a lot to me, and I feel lucky to work for a company that values me and fosters a collaborative environment for growth and development. I also enjoy working for a company that is helping bring therapies to market faster for patients suffering from a variety of GI diseases.

Describe some of the places you've traveled to for your job.

I have traveled to various destinations in North America, such as Ontario, Canada and San Diego for the Digestive Disease Week Conference, as well as in Europe, such as the United European Gastroenterology Conference in Vienna, Austria. In the new year, I will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark for the European Crohn's and Colitis Organization's conference. In addition, I hope to travel to see clients throughout the U.S. to build good relationships with our customers to drive sales forward.

How did Point Park University’s MBA program prepare you for career success?

Point Park’s MBA program prepared me for real-world experience in the global corporate world. My concentration in international business enhanced my education by giving me the skills, tools and knowledge needed to successfully navigate a diverse and ever-changing global market. Developing a deeper understanding of international business and cross-cultural awareness prepared me for the world that I work in today.

Who were your favorite professors?

My few of my favorite professors were Dimitris Kraniou, Ph.D., William Breslove, Ph.D., Archish Maharaja,CFP, CPA/PFS, Ed.D., and George Bromall, J.D. With their diverse experiences, they definitely made my courses at Point Park eye-opening, enriching and enjoyable.

What makes Point Park’s MBA program stand out from other universities?

I chose Point Park to pursue my MBA degree because of the distinctiveness and flexibility of the program. While pursuing my MBA degree, I participated in an internship at an international company while working three jobs to support myself. Point Park allowed me to take classes around my busy schedule, which was incredible. I would recommend Point Park because of its student focus and real-world classroom application of theory and practice.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Never ever give up. Never. A career is a long journey and can be wonderful and worth the wait if you work hard and stay focused.
