Ed Traversari, M.B.A., associate professor of sports, arts and entertainment management at Point Park University, was recently the keynote speaker at a Pittsburgh Association of School Retirees luncheon.

Traversari gave an overview of the entertainment business in Pittsburgh and spoke about his many years working in concert production for DiCesare Engler Productions. He also discussed his career transition from being a concert promoter to an associate professor at Point Park and how he brings his years of experience working in live entertainment into the classroom.

PghASR is a nonprofit, voluntary organization of more than 1,400 Pittsburgh Public School retirees. The organization provides Pittsburgh Public School students with the opportunity to apply for and receive scholarships to help them defray the cost of college.

In addition to teaching at Point Park, Traversari consults for a number of clients including Heinz Hall, Seven Springs Resort, The Pittsburgh Irish Festival, PBS Television Concert Series and Carnegie Science Center. He also helped produce The Joe Grushecky/Bruce Springsteen shows at Soldiers and Sailors Hall and The Bob Marley Celebration at The Benedum Center.
