Pictured is an image of skeleton for Pioneer Records' Rocktoberfest event on 10/31/16. | Image submitted by Ashley DobranskyHalloween night will be celebrated rock style as Pioneer Records is hosting its first Rocktoberfest at the Pittsburgh Playhouse Oct. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event will take place in the Playhouse's Rockwell Theatre and will feature live performances by Grandadchilds (including guitar player/vocalist John Kono Rushlander) and Chase and the Barons, the third - just announced - musician/band signed by Pioneer Records.

Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes; a best-dressed contest will be held. Admission to Rocktoberfest is free to Point Park students (with valid ID) and $5 for the general public.

About Pioneer Records

Pioneer Records is a Point Park University-operated record label managed by the sports, arts and entertainment management program, and housed at Red Caiman Media, a commercial recording studio in Pittsburgh's Uptown section. Through Pioneer Records, Point Park students gain first-hand experience working on the various aspects of a record label including marketing, promotion, intellectual property protection, recording, editing, production and more.
