Patrick Millard, assistant professor of photography at Point Park, will be speaking at the Humanity+ conference Transhumanism Meets Design at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City on May 15. He will give a lecture called "Biosphere 2 + Future Symbiosis."

In June 2010, Millard was the artist in residence at Biosphere 2, a sealed environment in the Arizona desert. In a discussion based around photographs and ideas from his Biosphere 2 portfolio, Millard will discuss his work involving emerging technologies and ecotechnic symbiosis. Along with a brief overview of the history, a call for harmonious implementation of technologies that abide by universal laws will be emphasized.

Humanity+ is a nonprofit organization advocating the ethical use of technology to expand human capabilities.
