Several Point Park students in the Research Methods class, taught by Associate Professor Tatyana Dumova, Ph.D., will present their research papers at the 104th annual Eastern Communication Association Convention April 24-28 at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh.

The presentations include:

  • "Narrative Paradigm in the Work of Charles Chesnutt: The Effect of Storytelling," Andrea Matuszak, M.A. in journalism and mass communication student
  • "Understanding Occupy: A Look Through the Cultural Studies Tradition," Justin Karter, M.A. in journalism and mass communication student and B.A. in English major Isabella Alexandratos
  • "Creating Affective Social Media Marketing Practices by Fostering Parasocial Relationships Through One-to-One Communication Between Media Figures and Users," Ivan Moore, M.A. in journalism and mass communication student
  • "Shattering Stereotypes: An Exploration of the Top Asian-American YouTube Channels," Ligaya Scaff, M.A. in journalism and mass communication student
