Tuesday, January 19, 2010
The Pennsylvania Prison Society, the oldest such institution in the United States which was founded by Ben Franklin and others more than 200 years ago, has named Associate Professor Bill Moushey, who is also director of the Innocence Institute of Point Park University, to its Advisory Council.
The advisory council is composed of a "small group of prominent individuals" who will work to "monitor the $60 billion a year criminal justice system." The council also will help the Prison Society in its effort towards "expanding our visibility and influence in the public policy arena."
Moushey accepted the appointment from William M. Di Mascio, the Philadelphia-based society's executive director.
