Dr. Chris W. Brussalis, who has served as interim president of Point Park University since Feb. 1, was officially appointed the University’s ninth president.

Point Park’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to remove “interim” from Dr. Brussalis’ title on Tuesday at its quarterly meeting.

“The Board of Trustees is thoroughly pleased with Dr. Brussalis’ exemplary performance as interim president,” said Joseph R. Greco Jr., chair of the Board of Trustees. “We have confidence that Dr. Brussalis’ visionary leadership, his allegiance to Point Park and its students and his unwavering commitment to excellence will grow the University and enhance the vibrancy of Downtown Pittsburgh.”

Dr. Brussalis was named interim president following the departure of Dr. Don Green. Dr. Brussalis is chairman of The Hill Group, Inc., a national management consulting firm and an adjunct professor of management and policy at the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University. As an engaged scholar-practitioner for more than 32 years, Dr. Brussalis has taught at the graduate level, provided advice and counsel to numerous colleges and universities and served in higher education executive leadership roles. His teaching and research focus is on management, strategy and economic development. Additionally, Dr. Brussalis has provided counsel to many Fortune 500 corporations, large institutions, nonprofits and governments throughout his career.

Dr. Brussalis has been working with the University community to complete its next strategic plan, which is expected to be publicly presented early in the fall.

Dr. Brussalis lives in the North Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife, Christina, and their four children.
