Joseph R. Greco Jr. has officially retired from his position as chair of the Board of Trustees for Point Park University. Dr. Lisa Marie Cibik, FACS, MD, was appointed to take his place in the leadership role at the University’s July 25 board meeting.

Greco, a 1971 graduate of Point Park, joined the Board of Trustees in 2016, becoming board chair in 2017. He is the president and CEO of Greco Gas Inc., which has served Western Pennsylvania since 1941. He announced earlier this year he would retire from the Board of Trustees upon completion of his current term.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve on the Board and as board chair,” Greco said. “I am proud of the work we have done during my tenure, and I’m excited about the future of Point Park.”

“I cannot adequately express just how deeply grateful I am for Joe’s exceptional service to Point Park as chair of our board,” President Chris W. Brussalis said. “His dedication to the University is truly awe-inspiring.”

Dr. Cibik, the newly appointed board chair, is one of the most experienced cataract surgeons in the U.S. Dr. Cibik has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2014. She is a partner in Spectrum Vision Partners, Medical Director of ASC and Director of Cataract Services at AIO. SVP has more than 50 practices across five states spanning the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Her mother, Dr. Rosemarie Cibik, played an integral role in the early development of Point Park University and was a longtime member of the Board of Trustees.

“The future of Point Park is bright, and I’m very excited to help lead this University as it prepares to move forward with a new strategic plan,” Dr. Cibik said. “I am a daughter of career educators, and I’m proud to continue their legacy of supporting higher education.”

Jamie Inferrera, a 2010 graduate of Point Park, was named vice chair of the Board of Trustees. Inferrera is an attorney with Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Pittsburgh office. She joined the Board in 2020 after sitting on the Point Park Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2013 to 2020, serving as president for three years.

“As an alumna, I am proud of the advances Point Park has made to distinguish ourselves as a dynamic urban university,” Inferrera said. “I am excited to take on a board leadership role and continue working with the University community to make an impact on such a vibrant and innovative institution.”

Dr. Brussalis said he is eager to continue working hand-in-hand with the Board of Trustees as the University moves closer to finalizing its next strategic plan.

“I am thrilled to be continuing our work with this incredible board," Dr. Brussalis said. "Together, we stand poised to embrace the future with unwavering confidence and excitement. Get ready for an extraordinary leadership transition. Lisa and Jamie are not only the right people but the absolute perfect visionaries to take on these pivotal roles. They will not only uphold the incredible work shepherded by the board during Joe’s tenure as chair, but also lead us to new heights of success and innovation.”
