Point Park University has signed a letter of intent to advance plans to purchase the former YWCA property in Downtown Pittsburgh, taking a major step forward in the advancement of the university’s vision to redevelop the site and contribute to a more vibrant Downtown.

This agreement lays the groundwork for transforming the long-vacant property, located at 305 Wood St., into a mixed-use development that reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to strengthening and reimagining Pittsburgh’s urban core.

“This is an opportunity to bring new life and purpose to a significant Downtown property,” said Dr. Chris W. Brussalis, president. “Our goal is to create a development that not only supports our students and academic mission but also shows our commitment to playing a lead role in the new Downtown renaissance.”

As discussions continue, the university will collaborate with civic, business and philanthropic partners to refine the project and align it with regional revitalization efforts already underway in Downtown Pittsburgh.
