Point Park welcomes the public and students to a free photographic arts lecture on Friday, January 28, 2011. The featured artist, photographer and filmmaker Nate Abramowski, will discuss his Quiet Men series focusing on the roles men assume in today's world. The Speaking Light event will begin at 6 p.m. in the JVH Auditorium in Thayer Hall.

Speaking Light is a new School of Communication lecture series on the photographic arts. Assistant Professor Patrick Millard organized the series of emerging and established artists. Millard's work in photography, new media and sound addresses ideas about media, digital culture, technology and the interactions that human beings have within the synthetic environment.

Speaking Light events will be held on the last Friday of each month during the academic year. Featured artists include Christine Holtz on February 25 and Heather Pinson on March 25. For more information, contact Patrick Millard.
