Point Park's online certificate programs give professionals a career edge Monday, June 20, 2011
Beginning fall 2011, Point Park University is offering two new online certificates in Adult Education and Administration and Public Administration. The 18-credit certificate programs are entirely online and designed for busy professionals to complete in just 12 months.
The Adult Education and Administration post-baccalaureate certificate is open to individuals who already possess a bachelor's degree and seek specific knowledge in adult education and administration.
With seven-week courses, students focus on the objectives for one course at a time allowing for deeper understanding of the content area. The program includes effective adult instructional methods, yet its primary focus is on administration, supervision and leadership in adult education settings.
The stand-alone certificate can also be a successful lead into Point Park University's Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, which would be completed on campus.
The Public Administration certificate program includes six courses, three required and three electives. Students can choose from classes in personnel management, budget and finance, disaster management and other courses that will help them reach their education and career goals.
