On Monday, February 1st at 7PM, a Point Park student broadcast called "Stepping Forward: Youth in Transition" will be shown on WBGN-TV. The show was developed through the fall 2009 Advanced Production Class. This one-hour piece will take a look at young people who have recently transitioned from being a child in the welfare system and are now moving on to independent living. It will be told through the youth's own words and views along with adults who work in the welfare system. They will be talking about their challenges and triumphs, and also educate the public about this kind of life reality.

This show was produced by Point Park undergraduate and graduate television broadcast students Bridget Benjamin, Carmen Knapic, Sarah Plocki, Tom McMeekin, Michael Quigley, Bryant Sutherland and Ryan Clutch in cooperation with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. Hosts are grad student Larry Miller and senior Kelly Johnson. Graphics were a project of the new Broadcast Graphics class taught by Fred Angiolieri with students Stacey Bronzie and Patrick Harrigan producing the final design and animation.

Be sure to tune into WBGN and watch this fantastic broadcast by some of Point Park's talented students. For more information on WBGN and this show please go to the WBGN website.
