Wellness On-The-Go Vending Machine
In September 2024, the Student Health Center officially opened its first Wellness On-The-Go Vending Machine for business on the first floor of the Student Center. The Health Center was awarded a grant from the Jewish Healthcare Foundation in August of 2024 to purchase vending machines to provide students with access to free pregnancy tests and other important healthcare items. The second machine is slated to open later this fall on the first floor of Academic Hall.
The vending machines carry free items such as sexual health packs, condom packs, menstrual care packs, and Plan B contraceptives. Other items are available for purchase and include OTC medications such as cold medications, cough drops, allergy medications, heartburn relief, pain relievers, and hygiene items such as tissues and deodorant. Both machines will have similar items but will also have different items to provide a wider range of products accessible to students. All products are purchased through our wholesaler and have a minimal markup – only to make items a whole number for ease of use. The plan is not to turn a profit and any profit we do make goes back into health center programming.
Point Park University has been awarded funds as part of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation’s College and University Health Vending grant program. The Jewish Healthcare Foundation is a fiscal agent for federal Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services in order to reduce maternal mortality, morbidity, and to support families in Pennsylvania.
Vending Machines are located in the Student Center Lobby and 2nd floor of Academic Hall.

In Partnership with ACHD: Harm Reduction Supplies Now Available
Point Park University has partnered with the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) to expand access to harm reduction tools across campus. Free Narcan (naloxone), fentanyl test strips, and xylazine test strips are now available in our Wellness On-the-Go vending machines and in the Student Health Center. This initiative supports our commitment to student safety, overdose prevention, and compassionate care. The Spicy Book Nook
This new addition to the Health Center Launched on February 14th, 2024. Established completely by donations, this little lending library is available to all students. Housing a wide variety of romance books, this is a safe space for students to explore sexuality, triggers, and tropes. With goals to increase the amount of LGBTQ and BIPOC romances available, we will continue to expand on the beautiful diversity of Point Park University.

Frequently Asked Questions
GloveBOX is free. Students may order up to 4 glove boxes for delivery each year. Additional safer sex supplies are available in the student health center
Our boxes are only delivered to on campus housing. If you live off campus and would still like to order a box, you can pick it up in the health center.
If you’d like to share or “gift” gloveBOX to a friend, we recommend either sharing the link with them so they can order their own, or ordering a box for yourself, and giving it to them separately. We ask that you do not send supplies to someone without them knowing, or as a “joke” (this is included in our Terms of Service agreement you fill out at the end of your order). We value consent, and that includes only sending people supplies that are expecting them.
We know many RE’s like to have safer-sex supplies available for their residents in the event they ask for them. While we don’t have any boxes specific for RE’s, we encourage you promote this service to your residents! You can also order a box under your name to have supplies for your residents as well. If you’re still running out, check in with the student health center for additional supplies.
Yes! Many people have told us that they don’t have sex, but still order supplies to have them available for their friends.
Sorry, no. Our boxes are based on donations and available products from our suppliers. You will see that some brands come and go. We cannot customize each box based on preferred products. If there are ever any issues with products, please let us know.
