The Pioneer Ambassadors are a group of student leaders who work directly with the incoming students and families. They promote the sustainability and success of Point Park University to incoming students, families, and faculty.

Margaret Hinnebusch 
Graduate Assistant

Margaret Hinnebusch is from Canton, Ohio, and is a graduate student in her final year of studying Healthcare Administration and Management. She is the Graduate Assistant for Student Affairs and Orientation Coordination. Margaret earned her degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science at Point Park University. She currently oversees the Pioneer Ambassador team and staff to help organize and coordinate the program. Margaret’s goal is to continue to make orientation more intentional and impactful for the incoming students to better help them adjust to city and university life. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and hanging out with friends in her free time.

Allie Plassio
Pioneer Ambassador Chair

Allie Plassio is from North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and is an Elementary Education and Special Education major. This year, Allie is serving as the orientation chair. Her goal is to work alongside the orientation coordinator, PALT members and PAs in efforts to guide them as they fulfill and represent the mission of the Pioneer Ambassador Program. Allie hopes to create an environment that will foster a productive relationship between the PA’s and the incoming freshman. She will also be striving to increase engagement among other leadership positions that involve morale and freshman student involvement this upcoming year. She is on the cross country and track and field teams and is the president of the Future Educators of America organization on campus. Allie also enjoys practicing her Christian faith and getting coffee with friends!

Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Brand Management &
Social Engagement

Drew Shoemaker (they/he) is from Orlando, Florida, and serves as the Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Engagement. In this position, Drew handles and maintains social media profiles to show the student body who Pioneer Ambassadors are and what our purpose is as an organization. Drew is currently attending Point Park for their BFA in Dance with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Drew is also a part of the Dance Club Leadership Team, serving as the Dance Department's Senior Class Representative. Outside of school, Drew enjoys drawing, filming/editing, reading, playing video games, and spending time with their friends.

Allicia Broyard
Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Membership and Training

Allicia Broyard is from Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and is a Psychology major with double minors in Behavioral Sciences and Women and Gender Studies. Allicia is the Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Membership and Training, where she prepares the Pioneer Ambassadors (PA’s) to represent the mission of the Pioneer Ambassador Program and the university, along with developing productive relationships between the PA’s and the incoming first-year students. She is active on campus as the secretary of the LatinX Student Association and Strong Women Strong Girls, along with serving as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair in the Student Government Association and executive board member of the Inclusive Student Leadership Association. Allicia enjoys watching movies, reading, and working with animals.

Emma Armstrong
Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Activity Involvement

Emma Armstrong is from Utica, New York, and is a dance major, concentrating in jazz and a theater production minor, concentrating in costume design. Emma is the Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Activity Involvement and plans events for the Pioneer Ambassador Retreat as well as Pioneer Experience. Their goal is to help foster motivation amongst the PA’s and encourage stronger attendance and involvement from the incoming students. Emma enjoys teaching yoga and watching movies with friends.

Jenna Filipski 
Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Service Initiatives

Jenna Filipski is from Erie, Pennsylvania, and majors in Sports, Arts, and Entertainment Management, with a heightened interest in entertainment. She is the Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Service Initiatives, who helps curate service projects for the incoming freshmen class that will bridge Point Park University and organizations around Pittsburgh to spread positivity through impact and action. Jenna aspires to give back to communities that make a difference in people's lives and wishes to do the same for those around her. She is currently the Managing Director for Ghostlight Theatre Company and the next Vice President of the SAEM Club. Jenna enjoys reading romance and fictional novels, listening to music, having horror movie marathons, and baking.

Marley Parker
Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator of Campus Involvement

Marley Parker is from Monroeville, Pennsylvania and is a general psychology major with minors in behavioral science and business management. Marley is the Pioneer Ambassador Coordinator for Campus Involvement. She plans all late-night activities for the Pioneer Ambassadors during training, and all late night events for freshmen during Pioneer Experience week. She also coordinates all Tea Tuesdays throughout the school year for the campus to stay engaged with the PA program. Marley has remained active on campus in Strong Women Strong Girls; formally as a mentor, site leader, diversity, equity, and inclusion coordinator, as well as being one of the chapter directors. She is also involved with the Inclusive Student Leader Association as the inclusive events and programming director. She has also interned in Point Park’s Office for Violence Against Women. Marley is also a general board member in the Campus Activities Board, LatinX Association, Future Educators of America, and other clubs. In her free time Marley enjoys taking walks around The Point, yoga, reading, engaging in social justice issues, being around friends and family and seeing live performances (concerts, plays, musicals, dance shows).
