All First-Year Students and Conservatory of the Performing Arts Transfer Students

Pioneer Experience 2020 (August 24-29)

Pioneer Experience is Point Park University's one-week orientation program. It occurs immediately before classes start and integrates students, academically and socially, into the University community.  Students receive information on campus resources, learn how to get involved on campus, hear from a keynot speaker, enjoy entertainment, and participate in community service. (Note: The Center for Student Success creates class schedules and works with students over the summer to adjust them if needed.)

Transfer Students in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Communication, and Education

Transfer Pioneer Days 2020 (June 12, July 17, August 7) 

Transfer Pioneer Day is Point Park's orientation program for transfer students in the schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Communication, and Education. With three dates to choose from, transfer students get acclimated to campus and ready to start the semester through this comprehensive, one-day program. Students will:

  • Have the opportunity to meet other incoming students and family members
  • Hear from a variety of campus departments and offices
  • Meet with faculty advisors and Center for Student Success coordinators
  • Learn about personal and academic resources

Registration for these sessions will open in March 2020. Details can be found on our FAQ page. Overnight accommodations will not be provided. All First-Year and Transfer Spring Admits

Spring Admit Pioneer Day 2021 (January 8)

This is a comprehensive one-day program for all first-year and transfer students admitted to Point Park University for the Spring 2021 semester.

Registration for this session will open in Fall 2020. Details will be found on our FAQ page. Overnight accommodations will not be provided. Please contact one of the nearby hotels if you are in need of housing. 


Pioneer Ambassadors

Pioneer Ambassadors serve as guides during the orientation programs. These select upper-level students receive rigorous training to assist with questions about various topics, from academic resources to clubs and organzations. Ambassadors interact with first-year students through the first semester to assist with their college transition; students can seek help from Ambassadors to resolve any concerns or issues.
