New Student Orientation 2020-21

COVID-19 UPDATE: Transfer Students in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Communication, and Education

In an effort to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe, Transfer Pioneer Days will not take place on campus for transfer students in the Schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, Communication, and Education. Instead we will offer a combination of online modules and a virtual session via Zoom. The modules will be released in Schoology mid-summer. The expectation is that these modules will be completed by the student’s Virtual Transfer Pioneer Day session, which will take place near the end of July or first week in August.

A survey will be emailed to students via their Point Park email address* to assess the best date and time for their virtual session that will be no more than two hours in length. Students will attend one virtual session which will be determined by their school of study. During these virtual sessions, students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty in their department and have their questions answered by members of the orientation team.

*If you do not know your Point Park email address, please contact your Admissions Counselor to assist you. If you are having trouble logging into your email, please contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@pointpark.edu.

Pioneer Experience 2020 (August 24-29)

Pioneer Experience is Point Park University's one-week orientation program. It occurs immediately before classes start and integrates students, academically and socially, into the University community.  Students receive information on campus resources, learn how to get involved on campus, hear from a keynote speaker, enjoy entertainment, and participate in community service. (Note: The Center for Student Success creates class schedules and works with students over the summer to adjust them if needed.)
