International Opportunities for Education Students and Alumni
The School of Education offers a variety of unique global experiences that prepare future educators to teach, lead and collaborate in diverse educational settings around the world. These opportunities allow students to apply what they learn in the classroom while gaining valuable international experience and developing a global perspective on education.
International Summer Field Experience – SEK Dublin
Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to participate in a two-week international field experience at SEK Dublin International School in Ireland. During this immersive experience, Point Park students work directly with PK–12 students from Spain who are learning English as a second language. Students collaborate with educators, assist with instruction and gain firsthand experience in an international school setting while exploring Irish culture.
Student Teaching Abroad
Teacher candidates may complete a portion of their student teaching experience abroad through the School of Education's international partnerships. Current placement opportunities are available in Ireland and Spain, allowing students to develop their instructional skills in diverse classrooms while earning credit toward Pennsylvania teacher certification requirements.
