In partnership with the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC), the Rowland School of Business at Point Park University offers a distinctive Aviation Management pathway. You will be full-time at Point Park, with some of your credits each semester being completed online through CCBC.
This program enables you to complete CCBC’s Professional Pilot or Air Traffic Control program, while simultaneously earning a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Point Park University. The result is the best of both worlds: exceptional, hands-on flight and aviation training combined with a strong foundation in leadership, strategy, and business operations.

How do I apply to the Aviation Management program?
You will apply to both Point Park University and CCBC. During your Point Park admissions process, our team will connect you directly with the CCBC Aviation Admissions Office to guide you through the next steps.

When do I attend CCBC Courses?
- Flight Training: To fulfill all requirements for your associate degree from CCBC, you'll complete flight training with a pre-approved flight training provider. Point Park’s preferred flight training provider is Cloud 9 Aviation. A full list of CCBC approved flight providers can be found on their website.
- Online and In-Person Classes: Designed for maximum flexibility, courses are delivered in a combination of online (synchronous and asynchronous) as well as in person formats.
- Dual Degree Path: Gain a comprehensive understanding of both aviation and business, earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science from CCBC and a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from Point Park University.
- Stay at PPU: Reside at Point Park University for the entirety of your program, making campus life easy and convenient.
What program do I enroll in at Community College of Beaver County?
You’ll enroll in the Associate Degree in Applied Science and choose from one of three specialized tracks to tailor your education to your career goals:
- Professional Pilot
- Advanced Piloting
- Air Traffic Control

How long does it take to complete the program?
The dual-degree pathway is designed to be completed in approximately four years, depending on your transfer credits and flight training schedule.
How are financial aid and tuition handled for the Aviation Management program?
The FAFSA form is filed during the admissions process and is processed through Point Park’s Financial Aid Office. All tuition, fees, and room and board charges are billed by Point Park even when you are taking courses with CCBC during a semester.
You will pay tuition directly to Point Park University and to CCBC for the courses you are enrolled in. Financial Services advisors at both Point Park and CCBC will work with you to ensure tuition and all eligible aid is applied appropriately.
Am I considered a Point Park student while taking classes at CCBC?
Yes. You will have a Point Park ID card and have access to the library, computer labs, dining facilities, student clubs, student activities, etc. Eligibility to participate in NCAA sports is determined on an individual basis.
What additional expenses are associated with the Aviation Management program?
You are responsible for making arrangements for all costs associated with flight time towards certifications and ratings with the flight provider. This is required for completion of the CCBC associate degree. Aircraft rates for our preferred flight training partner, Cloud 9 Aviation, can be found here. Are scholarships available?
Yes. Both Point Park University and CCBC offer a range of scholarships for eligible students, including merit-based, need-based, and aviation-specific awards.
Do I need prior flight experience to apply?
No prior experience is required. Whether you’re an aspiring aviation professional or already have some aviation background, the program accommodates all experience levels.
While at Point Park, where will I complete my Flight Training?
Our preferred flight training provider, Cloud 9 Aviation, is located at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. This is approximately a 35-minute drive from campus. You will be responsible for managing your flight training schedule as well as transportation to and from the airport.
