The SAEM Next! ticketing session on June 10, 2020 featured:

  • Andrew Bragman, vice president of ticket operations, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park
  • Carrie Cammack, vice president of box office operations, Staples Center and Microsoft Theater
  • Cait Schumann, associate general manager of ticketing and administration, Columbus Nationwide Arena
  • Jonathan Lack, senior director of ticketing, Milwaukee FiServ Forum

It was an engaging one-hour discussion in which our panelists above addressed the following questions and more:

  • What challenges do you face managing multiple venues with multiple tenants during this time?
  • Every new building wants to open up with a big bang and memorable event so how have the cancellations of all opening concerts affected the morale of the team?
  • What are some of the challenges of opening a new venue during these times?
  • Being in a new building without an existing workforce in place, what have been some of the hiring challenges of event and game day staff?
  • In one of the busiest venues in all of the world, with four professional tenants and numerous concerts and events, how have you been using the unexpected downtime?
  • How are you going about creating social distancing maps should our industry go in that direction?
  • How have you been keeping your large staff engaged and positive?
  • With all of the rules and regulations surrounding refunds on postponed, cancelled and rescheduled shows, how are you handling requests in relation to promoters, ticket agencies and/or geographical legislation rules and restrictions?

The ticketing session was moderated by SAEM Instructor Jason Varnish, M.S., owner and consultant of BOM (Box Office Management) Advisers, and senior SAEM student Jocelyn Bankson.
