The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) is a professional organization established in 1946. The Point Park chapter serves as an excellent networking tool for students going into news photography, photojournalism and mass media. NPPA members receive membership cards that allow them access to practically any media event, serving as an excellent tool for building a portfolio. Weekly meetings allow students to discuss and critique photographs, events and media trends, while guest speakers give insight and provide resume and portfolio-building advice. Anyone may join, but the club is geared toward students majoring in photography, photojournalism and broadcasting.
