Family Orientation

We provide multiple opportunities for the parents and guardians of our incoming students to get the information they need to better support their student’s transition to life at Point Park University:

Join Us Live at the Family Orientation Webinars

For your convenience, the Family Orientation Webinar is offered twice (the content is the same at both sessions):

Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 7–8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 7–8:30 p.m.

Registration is required for this webinar. Parents and guardians of students who have made their tuition deposit will receive an email inviting them to register. Registered guests will receive an email with the webinar link and information.

Please download and review the Family Guide (the updated version is coming soon) and watch the Family Orientation Video prior to the webinar.

Scheduled Panelists

  • Keith Paylo, Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students
  • Michael Gieseke, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Student Life
  • Angelo Gargaro, Managing Director of University Advising Center and Student Conduct

Students do not attend this orientation, as they will attend their own orientation when they arrive on campus.  Also known as Pioneer Experience, the student orientation will provide information more specific to their experience that will not be touched on in this webinar. 

Two registrants at each webinar will be eligible to win a Point Park apparel swag bag! Names will be drawn at random and students can pick up their prize at the beginning of the fall semester.

A recording of each webinar will be posted on this page at the conclusion of each event.

Family Orientation Video

 The Family Orientation Video is intended for parents/guardians of all incoming freshmen and new transfer students. The video is an initial introduction to campus support services, with more in-depth information being shared during the Family Orientation Webinar.
