Pioneer Experience - Fall 2026
Aug. 22-30, 2026

All New First-Year Students (all majors) and
New Transfer Students in a Conservatory major 

Pioneer Experience is Point Park University's full-week orientation program.  It occurs immediately before classes start and integrates students, academically and socially, into the university community.  Students receive information on campus resources, learn how to get involved on campus, hear from a keynote speaker, enjoy entertainment and participate in community service.  

  • Residential students (anyone living in a university residence hall) will begin attending on their assigned move-in date. 
  • Commuter students (anyone not living in a university residence hall)  will begin attending on Wednesday morning, August 26, with check-in time between 8 and 9 a.m.  
  • All students are then expected to attend the program every day after.

Transfer Pioneer Day - Fall 2026

All new transfer students NOT in a Conservatory major admitted for Fall 2026

Transfer Pioneer Day is a comprehensive one-day orientation program for transfer students (not in a Conservatory major) that takes place on the first Friday in August and integrates students into the university community.  Students receive information on resources and learn how to get involved on campus.  Attending Transfer Pioneer Day is a fantastic way to begin to settle into your collegiate life at Point Park University. 

  • Transfer Pioneer Day is for new transfer students who are NOT in a Conservatory major (COPA). 
  • COPA transfer students are required to register for and attend Pioneer Experience instead.

Spring Pioneer Experience is a comprehensive one-day orientation program for new students that takes place on the Friday before classes begin and integrates students into the university community.  Students receive information on resources and learn how to get involved on campus.
