Foundations for Success Program
2026-2027 Program Dates
Aug. 17 – Aug. 25, 2026 (Two-Week Program)
Select freshman applicants who do not meet the minimum admission requirements but show potential for success may be invited to participate in our Foundations for Success program. Applicants with lower cumulative GPAs, academic GPAs, class rank and/or standardized test scores may be offered this opportunity.
What is Foundations for Success?
- Foundations for Success is an intensive course designed to explore key knowledge, skills and attitudes that increase preparedness for the freshman academic experience.
- Students arrive on campus before the start of the fall semester in order to take coursework designed to build information literacy skills and effective learning strategies. Learn more about living on campus.
- Students also complete preparatory assignments prior to the start of the Foundations for Success program and complete follow-up activities during their first year.
- Students earn two elective credits by successfully completing all Foundations for Success requirements.
- Foundations for Success courses include: College Survival, Information Literacy, Quantitative Study Skills, and Reading, Writing and Listening.

Foundations for Success Costs and Requirements
- Attend the Foundations for Success program for the entire time of the two-week program.
- Fall full-time tuition charges include the tuition for the Foundations for Success program, as well as the cost of assigned textbooks and materials.
- Students who would like to have food service during the program will be charged a $250 fee. (Fall semester meal plans begin August 26.)
- ALL Foundations for Success students must RSVP to the Foundations for Success program and complete a food contract indicating their food needs during the program. Separate information will be sent by email which will include the RSVP and food contract links.
