Founder's Day
Point Park University began as a small business training college in 1933 under the direction of Dorothy Finkelhor and L. Herbert Finkelhor.

On February 6, we celebrate Founder's Day, honoring Dorothy Finkelhor, who opened Point Park in 1933 with eight students and a belief in practical, hands-on learning. Nearly a century later, that vision lives on in a thriving university rooted in Downtown Pittsburgh and a close-knit, career-ready community.
To commemorate our founding year, we invite you to make a $19.33 Founder's Day Gift in support of today’s students and the experiences that help them find their path.
