POSITION:                Media Production Systems Specialist      

DEPARTMENT:  Information Technology Services                                 

REPORTS TO:         IT Help Desk Manager   

PRIMARY FUNCTION:   The Media Production Systems Specialist will use their expertise and experience in Media Production to guide IT staff on systems support and maintenance, help translate faculty teaching needs into deliverable technology solutions, and assist in aligning campus media production technology with current industry standards. As well, this position will provide top-level support, maintenance, and system improvement project management for our campus Media Production systems.                                      

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Working experience in Media Production.
  • Degree or certifications in Media Production
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud Applications

DUTIES:

  1. Maintenance and support of media post-production hardware, software, and specialized facility equipment.
  2. Provide top-level support and troubleshooting of advanced media production issues.
  3. Work with Media Production software vendors and support teams to resolve all levels of issues encountered on media production systems.
  4. Provide additional assistance to Help Desk technicians when needed.
  5. Perform high-level repair work on media production computers and post-production facility equipment.
  6. Install, configure, and optimize media production software, hardware, and equipment to media production industry standard specifications.
  7. Provide research, guidance, and expertise to IT and Media Production faculty groups on new and current media production best practices and industry standards.
  8. Provide guidance and direction to IT Endpoint, Network, and Admin System administrators to ensure All IT servers, networks, and systems are optimized to media productions specialty needs.
  9. Attend media production program department meetings as IT / Technical liaison, and act as the IT department representative when discussing and researching their needs.
  10. Research, test, and review new software and hardware to help ensure that the Point Park Media Production programs remain technically relevant and competitive in the Higher Education market.
  11. Work with subject matter experts in media production programs to understand their technical needs and translate them into smoothly operating and well-maintained workflows for faculty and students alike.
  12. Develop and maintain specialized media production knowledge base articles and assist with providing guidance to Help Desk technicians for media production support needs.
  13. Compile software system requirements and provide purchasing recommendations for all types of needed media production computer hardware purchases.
  14. Develop and maintain guides for students and faculty on the use and technical operation of advanced production facilities.
  15. Collaborate with the Media Services department and Media Production programs to develop equipment replacement cycles and provide expert recommendations on equipment purchases for new and current facilities.
  16. Perform other related duties as assigned.
