Tell us about your work as a business owner and creative director.

I started Hippy at Heart (HAH) in 2013 while I was attending Point Park and the brand has grown significantly since that time. HAH consists of tees, hoodies, outerwear and occasional oddball items that I think my customers will appreciate.

Focusing every day on how I can create a community around the brand is a never-ending process that I have fallen in love with. I recently added a curated vintage collection this spring to the website called HAH Eclectic and am currently finishing up the fall 2020 line that will release in a couple months.

What factors made you choose Point Park University’s sports, arts and entertainment management major?

I was originally a broadcast reporting major when I came to Point Park as a freshman, but decided to change majors my sophomore year. I've always had a love for sports so the SAEM major seemed like a major I could really see myself enjoying.

In what ways did our SAEM faculty and classes impact you?

I really loved the professors in the SAEM department. They made us feel like we weren't stuck in the same classroom routine and always kept it exciting for us. The classes at Stage AE were unique and what we learned in class always kept me intrigued. Also, the professors have real-life experience in their industries and made us feel confident in the knowledge we were gaining.

What are your favorite Point Park memories?

Being in class with Professors David Rowell, Ed Traversari and Steve Tanzilli, playing golf at Point Park and living in Lawrence Hall my freshman year are the first things that come to mind and make me smile.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

When I decided to go to Point Park, I didn’t know anyone who ever went there, nor did I know anything about the University. I actually only applied there because I saw it pop up in a Facebook ad and realized that it was in Pittsburgh (my favorite city) and it was free to apply.

During my time at Point Park, I could see how well the University was growing and becoming a staple in the city. Even after graduation and today, I am constantly hearing about how great the school is and how much it has improved over recent years. I am proud to have been a student at Point Park and wouldn’t think twice about going back and doing it all over again if I had the chance.
