The M.B.A. program at Point Park University was recently ranked as the fourth-largest in the Pittsburgh area by the Pittsburgh Business Times. This ranking was based on total enrollment of 318 for the 2012-2013 academic year.

According to Kathy Ballas, director of graduate and adult enrollment, Point Park's M.B.A. program is a popular option for people who work in Downtown Pittsburgh. The program offers flexibility and, for some companies, classes conducted on-site.

The 36-credit M.B.A. program at Point Park offers accelerated, fast track and traditional delivery formats and a choice of five concentrations:

  • Management;
  • International Business;
  • Management Information Systems;
  • Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management; and
  • Health Systems Management.

"The M.B.A. program ranking over the last few years reflects our students' satisfaction with the program and the education they receive. Our faculty is highly experienced and always looking to help our students reach their educational and career goals," said Archish Maharaja, Ed.D., assistant professor and director of the M.B.A. program. "We are proud of our M.B.A. students and our achievements."

Another draw is the new 36-credit M.B.A. degree in global management and administration, launched in fall 2013. "Point Park is the only University in the tri-state area to offer an M.B.A. in global management," said Ballas. The program provides students with a thorough understanding of global business theories as well as the opportunity to engage in real-world, international business practices.
