Four students in the sports, arts and entertainment management program can now add the experience of working at the March 13 Maroon 5 concert in Pittsburgh to their resumes.

"Through my relationships at the CONSOL Energy Center, I was able to coordinate an opportunity for four of our SAEM students to work at the Maroon 5 VIP table," said Ed Traversari, M.B.A., associate professor of sports, arts and entertainment at Point Park.

The SAEM students assisted Maroon 5's VIP coordinators with the process of checking in ticket holders while ensuring these guests were receiving the "ultimate fan experience."

Feedback From the Students

Here is what the SAEM students had to say about their experience:

"Being able to participate in opportunities such as working at the Maroon 5 concert is one of the best perks of being an SAEM major at Point Park. Through the connections from our professors, we are able to gain hands-on experience while learning the fundamentals of the industry in the classroom. It is a great way to network and build your resume especially for someone like me, who is about to graduate and take on the real world." - Karley Ferlic, senior SAEM major

"It was so interesting and beneficial to see some of the things we spend so much time talking about in our live entertainment classes come to life. Working alongside industry professionals makes me realize that I am on the right career path." - Nicolette Jones, sophomore SAEM major

"Assisting with the VIP table was a great experience because I got to interact directly with other people working on the tour. I liked seeing how VIP Nation organized their event compared to other VIP parties I have worked with in the past such as Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan." - Rachel Travisano, junior SAEM major
