"By offering students the chance to write for The Globe, or to get involved with WPPJ or U-View, Point Park provides students with many opportunities to apply the skills they learn in the classroom and build their portfolio."

Jordyn Hronec '21, former editor-in-chief, The Globe

Point Park University School of Communication majors were recognized among the best in collegiate journalism by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).

Students reporting for The Globe — Point Park's independently run student newspaper — received several SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards in Region 4, including Best All-Around Student Newspaper (Small).

"Different writers and contributors often win awards for their work at The Globe, usually for specific pieces that they write. But for The Globe as a whole to win an award, that means that we have unified and our readers can expect high-quality reporting across the board — and that our staff has continued to grow and learn during a global pandemic," said Jordyn Hronec '21, former editor-in-chief of The Globe
