The award-winning Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University, a multi-disciplinary arts and entertainment center located in Downtown Pittsburgh, is pleased to announce the 2025-26 season.

The new season aims to continue the legacy of arts and entertainment excellence by embracing community-focused and family-friendly programming that includes the return of an immersive theatrical experience fusing STEM and art, the second annual Fall Fest featuring a family-friendly Halloween show, music from celebrated Pittsburgh artists and a full roster of theatre and dance offerings from the Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) at Point Park University.

“For 90 remarkable years, the Pittsburgh Playhouse has stood at the heart of Pittsburgh's vibrant arts and entertainment community and has served as a home for artists, a stage for storytellers and a gathering place for audiences of all ages," said Kiesha Lalama, M.F.A., executive producer of the Pittsburgh Playhouse and interim dean of the School of Theatre, Film and Animation. "This season, we proudly celebrate that legacy while setting our sights on the future, uniting the past, present and next generation of Pittsburgh’s creative family.”

Of note, audiences can expect their tried-and-true favorites: 12 shows from the renowned Conservatory of Performing Arts across many styles of dance, musicals and plays including Lysistrata, Urinetown, Forbidden Broadway, Love and Information, Our Town and Little Shop of Horrors along with dance concerts throughout the season that unite Point Park University students with internationally renowned choreographers. Works by dance artists such as Jae Man Joo, Martha Graham, Norbert De La Cruz and Kenichi Kasamatsu will be performed.

Several celebrated events will return this season, including:

  • Fall Fest and the family-friendly Halloween themed show Boo’s Halloween House Party, turning Downtown Pittsburgh into this year’s autumn destination.
  • ARTfully UPlifting in March as a sensory-friendly performance designed to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all.
  • ASCEND in May as the acclaimed immersive experience, bringing audiences together in live performance, 360-degree projections, music, aerialist dancing and more.
ASCEND explores the four elements of earth, air, water and fire through stunning projections, evocative music, mesmerizing dance and the gravity defying artistry of aerialists.
