Monday, October 9, 2023 Point Park’s School of Education and Conservatory of Performing Arts are collaborating to offer students a new Master of Education in Pre-K through 12 Dance Education Certification program. The new M.Ed. dance education certification program, set to begin the spring of 2024, is the first of its kind in the state.

Thursday, May 26, 2022 The Pittsburgh Playhouse has been approved for a $30,000 Grants for Arts Projects award from the National Endowment for the Arts. The grant was awarded to support a portion of the Playhouse’s “Shaping the Arts: Black Women and Femme Artists and Creators” program.

Wednesday, September 15, 2021 Garfield Lemonius, M.F.A., has been appointed dean of the Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) at Point Park University and artistic director of the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Lemonius was previously appointed acting dean and artistic director, and prior to that served as chair of the Department of Dance.
