Point Park University Brings Conservatory Auditions and Student Workshops to Bradenton Monday, August 31, 2026

Point Park University will bring its nationally recognized Conservatory of Performing Arts audition process to Bradenton in September, offering area high school seniors the opportunity to audition for admission to the University’s Pittsburgh-based fall 2027 class.
Point Park will conduct in-person auditions on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. The Bradenton location has been added to Point Park’s national Conservatory audition schedule and will serve students interested in the University’s Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre and Performance and Creative Industries programs. Registration is now open and space is limited.
Prior to the auditions, Point Park Conservatory faculty members will lead workshops at several Manatee County schools on Thursday, September 10. The workshops will introduce area high school students to the training, expectations and creative opportunities associated with a Point Park Conservatory education.

The Bradenton auditions follow Point Park University’s recent announcement that it is exploring a possible location in Bradenton. The University’s presence for auditions and school workshops is intended to connect prospective students with Point Park’s established Conservatory programs while providing a convenient, local opportunity for students to demonstrate their artistic potential.
“Point Park’s Conservatory is built on the belief that ambitious young artists should have opportunities to learn, create, perform and develop their individual voices,” said Garfield Lemonius, dean of Point Park University’s School of Dance. “We are excited to meet students in Bradenton, share what makes our programs distinctive, and welcome them into an audition process that recognizes both their preparation and their potential.”
“An audition is not simply an evaluation; it is an opportunity for students to begin imagining the next stage of their creative lives,” said Kiesha Lalama, dean of Point Park University’s School of Theatre, Film and Animation. “We look forward to working with students in Manatee County, seeing the artistry they bring to the room, and helping them understand how Point Park can prepare them for meaningful careers in theatre, performance and the creative industries.”
Students may audition for programs in Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre and Performance and Creative Industries. Each program combines intensive Conservatory preparation with a comprehensive University education, connecting students to faculty artists, professional opportunities and Pittsburgh’s nationally respected arts community.
