Petrov, who is retiring in December after teaching dance for more than four decades at Point Park, choreographed the American premiere of Prokofiev's ballet at Point Park in 1967.

The Conservatory Dance Company offers dance majors the opportunity to work with both legendary and sought-after contemporary choreographers and dancers.

Student Choreography Project

The Conservatory Dance Company once again opens its season with the Student Choreography Project, a showcase of original choreography by the Conservatory's top students. Recognized for national festivals and awards, this edgy and inspired concert features selections from a variety of dance genres by some of today's most promising young artists.

Contemporary Choreographers

Luminaries of the dance world collaborate with Point Park students in a performance like you've never seen before. Today's most sought-after choreographers bring their unique perspectives to an evening that will leave you in awe. This is an exciting, innovative fusion of styles you can't find anywhere else.

Romeo and Juliet

An internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer and artistic director with more than 50 years of experience, Nicolas Petrov choreographed the American premiere of Romeo and Juliet at Point Park more than 40 years ago. It was his first production at the school and he concludes his tenure at Point Park with another memorable production of Prokofiev's famous ballet. His name has become almost legendary in the dance world and he frequently guest teaches for many dance schools, conventions and colleges throughout the country and overseas.

Conservatory Dance Company at the Byham Theater

This performance showcases the diverse and impressive talents of the students, featuring an exciting array of dance legends and styles. Past performances at the Byham have included pieces by Martha Graham, Alejandro Cerrudo, José Limón, Ben Stevenson, Raphael Xavier, Val Caniparoli, Kevin Iega Jeff and Ohad Narahin.

Point Park Connections

Point Park students have access to a wide range of dance styles and experiences through the adjunct dance faculty. With artful choreography, this performance features very special works created for the season's final performance.
