Point Park University Spirit Programs Overview
Thank you for your interest in the Point Park University Spirit Programs, which consist of both the Dance Team and Cheer Team. These teams are made up of highly trained, athletic students who serve as ambassadors of school spirit, promoting pride, energy, and sportsmanship across campus and within the greater community.
Members of the Spirit Programs are integral to the university experience, representing Point Park at a wide range of events while fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and excellence among teams, squads, and audiences alike.
Participation in the Spirit Programs is a year-round commitment, and all prospective members must be prepared to fully engage throughout the academic year. Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performances and sideline support at athletic events across Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons
- Participation in playoff and championship competitions
- Appearances at university-sponsored events and initiatives
- Engagement in community events and outreach opportunities
- Competitive performances representing Point Park University
The Spirit Programs are designed to elevate both the student experience and university visibility—blending performance excellence with leadership, accountability, and team culture.

Point Park University's Cheer and Dance Teams are university-sponsored club sports that bring excitement to campus. Our teams perform at select varsity basketball games and at a variety of campus and community events.
Scholarships are available for all team members.

Important note:
Auditions for Point Park University's Dance Team and Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts School of Dance are separate. The Spirit Programs teams are extracurricular, but many Conservatory students participate as well.

During the annual Day of Giving, you can earmark your gift for the cheer and dance teams. Or, you can give to the cheer and dance teams at any time with our Give Now page. Choose "Other" and then type in cheer and dance. Gifts go to the championship fund.
