Wood Street Communications (WSC) is Point Park University’s professional media and communications production house, collaboratively led by the Center for Civic & Community Engagement (CCE) and the Center for Media Innovation (CMI), in partnership with the School of Communication.

Operating from within the CMI, WSC provides full-service media production for area businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations. Projects are completed by student teams under faculty and professional supervision, blending real-world experience with academic rigor. Projects may include the use of CMI equipment and facilities, or be completed off-site.

Wood Street Communications operates primarily on a fee-based model. Pricing is set slightly below prevailing market rates to remain accessible to nonprofit and community partners while supporting high-quality production, professional supervision, and student learning opportunities.

To advance Point Park’s mission as an anchor institution, WSC also accepts a limited number of pro bono or reduced-rate projects annually for small nonprofits and early-stage organizations demonstrating strong community impact and financial need.

Point Park and the CMI offer state-of-the-art equipment for video, audio and photography production, as well as training programs for how to effectively share compelling messages. Projects may be completed at our facility or off-site at events, etc.  These services include:

Photography (event or collateral)
Video Production (storytelling or studio use)
Podcasting (creation and studio use)
Graphic Design (collateral, branding)
Public Relations (press releases, strategy)
Social Media (strategy)
