Carla Bianco, M.F.A., brings decades of experience as a crossover music entrepreneur, artist and instructor. Her teaching includes 15 years of undergraduate work in the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, as well as guest instruction at Shenandoah University, University of Pittsburgh and Clarion University.
In Bianco’s professional career, she has worked extensively as an actor, singer, songwriter and music business innovator in New York, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. She has secured numerous recording and publishing deals, started her own record label and has appeared on West Coast, Broadway and off-Broadway stages, all of which have earned her chart placements, recognition and awards. She is the proud recipient of an ASCAP Award for penning the #1 Billboard song and international hit, “The Lover That You Are,” and starred on Broadway as Maureen in the Pulitzer-Prize-winning show “Rent.”
Bianco founded Ivory Note Records, distributed by Sony Orchard and released three studio albums, achieving national recognition, performing with acts such as Kenny Loggins and Gino Vannelli. Through her private music studio, she also trains, develops and manages emerging artists and musicians. She is also a founding arts director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and Charter School.
