Background

Ashlee Geesaman is a lecturer in the School of Education at Point Park University. Before joining the faculty full-time, she served as the Administrative Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs, supporting academic operations, student success initiatives and teacher candidate development.

After earning her teaching certification in K–8 education, Geesaman began her career in Los Angeles, Ca. She has taught students in both PreK–5 and grades 9–12 and has experience working in diverse educational settings. Her professional background includes classroom instruction, curriculum development, teacher preparation and mentoring aspiring educators.

At Point Park, Geesaman teaches undergraduate education courses with a focus on literacy, instructional practice and teacher development. She is committed to helping future educators connect educational theory to effective classroom practice through meaningful field experiences, reflective teaching and evidence-based instruction.

Geesaman's professional interests include teacher residency and apprenticeship models, educator preparation, instructional coaching and leadership development. As a doctoral candidate in leadership and administration, her research focuses on teacher candidate growth and instructional development within teacher preparation programs.
