"Jenna Lo Castro and Camille Downing are my favorite professors. They want to see their students thrive and create a welcoming and fun class environment. Additionally, they help students with internship opportunities, resume building and how to create an online portfolio. They have impacted not just my education, but my outlook on life."

Why did you choose the public relations and advertising program and what do you enjoy about it?

I started as an undecided major because I didn't know what path to choose. Since I like being creative and communicating with others, I thought the PR and advertising program was the perfect match. I really like the hands-on classes and how well they prepare you for a professional work environment. There are also so many career opportunities in Pittsburgh — from the arts, marketing, law or education — that you will find a path to succeed.

Describe your favorite professors at Point Park.

How has your minor in criminal justice enhanced your education?

My minor has pushed me creatively to look at things with a new perspective, and it's been so much fun to learn something outside of my major. Some of my favorite classes are Criminal Profiling and Constitutional Law for Law Enforcement. While the second course can sound intimidating, Christine Secilia made it a memorable and fascinating class.

What are the benefits of living and learning in Downtown Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh is much more affordable compared to other cities. It's also the perfect sized community to begin the next chapter in your life because it's not too big and not too small. Every bridge you cross is a new opportunity waiting to be explored.

What are the three things you love most about Point Park?

What I love most about Point Park are the small class sizes,  the variety of things to do on/off campus and the student discounts/perks the University offers to local museums, restaurants, etc.

Why would you recommend Point Park to a prospective student?

Going to college and moving away from your family is a scary change. You’re in a different environment with new people, not a lot of friends yet and scared that classes might be overwhelming or difficult. Point Park welcomes students with open arms and hosts many welcoming events to help make that change less terrifying.
