Why did you choose Point Park’s theatre production program?

I chose to earn a B.F.A. in theatre production (stage-management) at Point Park for many reasons, but primarily because of the experiences and opportunities available. From my first semester, I was working on shows with upperclassmen, professors and national and local industry professionals.

What advice do you have for a student applying to the theatre production program at Point Park?

Take advantage of the opportunities available to you at Point Park. I worked on countless productions produced by the Conservatory and our students. I made incredible connections from putting myself out there and seeking new opportunities.

When did it all come together that you made the right decision to major in theatre production at Point Park?

During the spring semester of my sophomore year, I stage-managed a student-led production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Bridge’s Theatre Company on campus. What really made it all click for me was the collaboration and trust among the students — I learned so much and we had a blast.

What activities have you been involved in on campus?

One of my favorite things about Point Park is how easily you can be involved on campus and with the student body.

Freshman year, I decided I wanted to meet more students and make an impact on campus, so I applied to be a Pioneer Ambassador. This is one of the best decisions I made at Point Park. Having the opportunity to work with 20 students from different schools and backgrounds helped me open up and branch out of the Conservatory. I loved getting to know everyone, and of course the chance to welcome a new freshman class each year.

Additionally, I was a member of the Campus Activities Board (CAB) general board for two years, helping to plan and organize events around campus.

Tell us about professional opportunities you’ve had off campus.

While at Point Park, I've made strong connections in the professional world.

I work at Creative Coffee, a small shop near campus, and I love making connections with Point Park students and faculty and the Downtown Pittsburgh community.

I also worked at Acrisure Stadium with BOM Advisers, an opportunity that came to me through my connections at Point Park.

Most recently, I started working at Pittsburgh Public Theater as a front of house staff member.

I cherish the connections I've made through all of these opportunities.

As a resident of Rhode Island, what’s it like living and learning in Downtown Pittsburgh?

I moved to Pittsburgh from Portsmouth, R.I., a tiny town in the smallest state. I'm a city girl at heart and I adapted fairly quickly to the Downtown Pittsburgh environment.

What are three things every Pioneer should check out around Downtown Pittsburgh?

  1. PNC Park: Go to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. The stadium is a short walk over the Roberto Clemente Bridge (my favorite bridge) and it's affordable.
  2. The Strip District: I love to bike or walk there to get a coffee, walk around, do some work or go shopping.
  3. Point State Park: A true classic. The Point is always a nice escape whenever I am seeking some outside time.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I have loved my time at Point Park, and I can't wait to see what my future holds after I graduate. I am so grateful for this program!
