Point Park University to Offer Two Programs in AI Skill Building Wednesday, November 26, 2025
“Every day we’re learning more about AI and its impact on nearly every phase of our lives. As educators, we need to equip our teachers and students with a greater understanding of AI, both its challenges and benefits.”
In response to the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on every aspect of society, including all levels of education and training, Point Park University’s School of Education will offer an AI in Education Endorsement Program aimed at equipping educators and students with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate and contribute to an AI-driven world. Point Park is the second university in the state to be certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer the endorsement program.
“Every day we’re learning more about AI and its impact on nearly every phase of our lives,” said Dr. Virginia Chambers, dean of the School of Education and associate professor of education. “As educators, we need to equip our teachers and students with a greater understanding of AI, both its challenges and benefits.”
To meet the opportunities raised by AI in educational settings, the AI in Education Endorsement Program will help educators become more familiar with AI technologies and apply that knowledge to create meaningful, engaging and impactful learning environments.
According to Chambers, “This will bolster educator competencies by integrating AI ethically, educationally and innovatively across Pre-K to Grade 12 classrooms.”
Offered fully online as a standalone endorsement, it is also available as a concentration in the fully online Master of Education in Teaching and Leadership program. Finally, the endorsement is included as part of the Master of Learning, Design and Technology (M.A. and M.Ed.).
In addition to offering the AI in Education Endorsement Program for educators, the School of Education will be offering an AI Certificate Program, also offered fully online, and open to those in a wide range of career and employment settings. The AI Certificate program is designed to prepare students to integrate AI into their field and to navigate both the opportunities and challenges of an AI-driven world.
“Because AI is so much a part of the conversation, some people want to learn more, either for their careers or just to have a better understanding of the subject, and that’s what the AI Certificate Program is all about,” Chambers said.
Enrollment for both programs is now open with classes beginning in January 2026.
